I set out to design a simple entry level boat which is constructed   using stitch and glue methods from plywood. The ideas behind   the design were that the boat could be built as a rowing boat or   a yacht tender and also with a small outboard motor. Later, perhaps   as resources permit the addition of centre board case, centre board,   rudder, spars, fittings and sails she will truly become a general purpose   dinghy. This design has been our second biggest seller and many have   been built, some by schools as wood working projects for students.

The photos show project boat which was built by Redcliffe High School (Queensland, Australia) students with th esupport of the local Rotary. Currently (June 2007), students from St Bedes College Mentone (Victoria, Australia) are building Scamp as a school project.
